I hope everyone enjoyed their break! This is a crazy week because in JUST this week, we're covering the whole South Asia unit!
MONDAY -- Physical and Political maps of South Asia. Students started with an opener about South Asia's physical geography (#2) Students labeled & colored a political and physical map of South Asia (#4), took notes on South Asia's physical geography (#3), and watched a video about monsoons OR Mt. Everest.
TUESDAY -- Hinduism & Buddhism Students started with an opener about reincarnation (#5), then took notes on a foldable about Buddhism & Hinduism. Finally, they had a choice to meditate or work on the homework assignment, a comparative study of 4 religious holidays (#7).
WEDNESDAY -- Indian History Students started with an opener to analyze a quote from Gandhi (#8), then took notes on the Partition of India (#9), continued the notes with a reading about Gandhi, and then read a second reading about Malala Yousafzai (#10) and answered a discussion question.
THURSDAY -- South Asia Today Students started with an opener that analyzed a political cartoon about the economics of India (#11), continued with notes on South Asia, watched and discussed 2 videos (links on ppt) and finally drew pictures on the back of the notes that represented 1 cause for the poverty and 3 solutions for the poverty (#12).
FRIDAY -- Summative Assessment over South Asia (in class). Make sure you bring in your notebooks!
