Monday -- No school
Tuesday -- Students received a class syllabus. The last page should be filled out and returned by Friday. Students also labeled a map of the physical features of the Ancient World (map here) (quiz Friday). Map terms: 1 Sahara Desert 10. Indus River 2 Mediterranean Sea 11. Ganges River 3 Nile River 12. Himalayan Mountains 4 Arabian Desert 13 . Taklamakan Desert 5 Euphrates River 14. Gobi Desert 6 Tigris River (no 15 on map) 7 Caucus Mountains 16. Yellow (Huang He) River 8 Zagros Mountains 17. Yangtze (Chang Jiang) River 9. Indian Ocean 18. Pacific Ocean Wednesday -- Students practiced reading a timeline (timeline powerpoint), created a personal timeline (assignment here), and had time to work on their timeline homework (assignment here) in class. Thursday -- Students took notes on the 5 characteristics of a civilization (notes page here , powerpoint here). Then they began work on their "create a civilization" travel brochure (directions here). Friday -- Students took a quiz on the Ancient World Map, turned in their homework, and turned in their travel brochure. **Students have a quiz over the Physical Features of the Ancient World map on Friday.
